Star screed venting roller – precise venting of fresh masses

The Star Screed Deaerator Roller is a tool designed for deaerating freshly applied screeds and flooring compounds. Air bubbles may remain in the material during application, and it's important to remove them before the compound sets. Rolling the roller across the surface effectively releases trapped air and improves the quality of the finished layer.

The Star screed roller is available in five variants, differing in roller size and spike height, allowing you to precisely match the tool to the type of mortar used and the specific job being performed. Selecting the appropriate spike length facilitates effective deaeration without unnecessary damage to the screed surface.

Venting the screed – why is it so important?

Air bubbles trapped in the fresh mix can lead to voids and unevenness, affecting the quality and appearance of the finished floor. A roller for venting screeds helps reduce the amount of trapped air and achieve a more uniform material texture.

The tool is primarily used when working with self-leveling compounds and other liquid flooring mixtures, where proper deaeration is an important element of the flooring process.

The most important advantages of using a roller are:

– effective removal of air bubbles – the spikes penetrate the fresh mass and facilitate the escape of air,
– levelling the material structure – deaeration helps reduce the formation of voids in the layer,
– improvement of surface quality – a properly performed process helps to obtain a uniform and aesthetic floor,
– selection of the appropriate variant – two types of spike heights allow for better adaptation of the roller to a specific application.

How to use a deaeration roller?

The roller should be used on freshly spread material before it begins to lose its flow. The tool should be rolled evenly across the entire surface, making passes in various directions. This allows for more thorough coverage of the entire layer and more effective removal of air bubbles.

A properly selected screed roller facilitates this stage of work and allows for efficient preparation of fresh mass for the further setting process.
